***READ THIS FIRST - DEAD COMIC*** "As far as I can tell, this comic is dead as of 06/02/2003 (last post date). We mourn its passing. Lethal Doses was good, and I hope that some day it will return to its former splendor. Until then, I will leave this post up, but I hope that some day I will return to modify it..." That was the scene back in '04, but since that time (sometime recently), LD has returned and is updating on what appears to be a once-per-week basis. This was a great comic, and I will thoroughly enjoy getting to indulge in Hot-Soup-Hilarity once more. See ya! Web Comic Review of the Week for 05/09/2003 Welcome back my readers, and greetings to all newcomers! I hope you are enjoying my section thus far. Today’s review will be over a comic that was really going to be great, until its creator hit hard times. I am talking about the tragedy that once was Lethal Doses by Hot Soup. Lethal Doses has its problems. The site doesn't always load well, and it can only be enjoyed on a high rez view. Sure, some of you don't mind that, but I personally hate it when everyone assumes you are going to use above 800 x 600 (Medical Note: 800 x 600 is better for your eyes). The comic hasn't updated in a month, and when it was updating, the updates were infrequent and often consisted of filler (Shalmdi HATE filler!). Also, this new Damascus line Soup was working with just was not that great. The thing is, I can't sit here and tell you Lethal Doses is all bad; it actually has a great history. If you have some free time, I strongly recommend that you check out the archives (Don't click on First Comic, it only takes you back about half way). Lethal Doses may be near the bottom of the barrel now, but in days of yore it was a hilarious comic that never failed to get a smile from yours truly. Now before you people go off thinking that the decline is due to a lack of effort on the part of Mr. Soup, let me set the record straight. The page's creator, Hot Soup, has fallen into financial trouble of an undisclosed kind (frankly, it’s his business not ours) and has been unable to spare the time necessary to bring LD up to his high standards. I know that some of you reading this may have been fans of this comic, and I hope that you, like I will continue checking the page for updates, hoping that Soup can get back on his feet. See that PayPal banner on his page? You want comics you click there! Well as I said, Lethal Doses was once great but has fallen on rocky times. I must be fair to my readers and give this site less than it once deserved. Hot Soup, I, and hopefully some of my readers, will be waiting and hoping for the day that you can get back on your feet.
