Web Comic Review for 05/12/2003 Welcome back my loyal readers, and hello to you newcomers. Well, the Web Comics section is coming along great, and I am more than happy to keep you entertained this week with one of my personal favorites of the WC world. Lets get to talking about the comedy that is Dork Tower by John Kovalic. Dork Tower is a comedy for outsiders of all ages! If you are a dork, geek, nerd, or a plain old freak like me, Dork Tower will do more than amuse you; it will have you dying of laughter! Kovalic's little wonder is nothing more than a story about friends. Dorky friends (hence the name). Dorky friends with too much money and time. Dorky friends with...you get the picture. John's cast of hilarious characters is the epitome of Freak in all its geeky glory. I believe that any Web Comic fan will find some aspect of this comic that appeals to them. The only thing that I can even find wrong with this comic is the infrequency of the updates. Although Dork Tower is apparently scheduled as listed below, many times the comics are late or don’t even appear at all. Just last week, the Wednesday installment (a frequent absentee) was MIA once again. More than once, I and my fellow Dork Tower fans have been denied entire weeks worth of updates. Also, John just recently had to put in some filler comics to make up for the lack of DT's. Now while they were good fillers, they were still fillers and as I have said before, I hate fillers!! Be forewarned though. There are two things you should be prepared for if you plan on visiting Kovalic's little wonder. You will be tempted to buy his merchandise! I am already saving a little cash to buy his first book, and I am contemplating buying some of his Munchkin cards. But your wallet is not the only thing in danger. If you have any doubts on the level of your geek-hood, Dork Tower is the perfect thing to set the record straight. If you can relate to these comics, you are a geek. Much like me. Let the Geek Pride parade begin! Yah! Site updates are Monday, Wednesday(?), and Friday with a Bonus Comic every other Monday and every Friday. Dork Tower is rated PG for very mild sexual humor. Comments From the Other Gods: Um, right. This comic is very standard as far as geeky and dorkish(heh...) humor goes. It is quite all-encompassing, easily appealing to a large audience of social misfits. That means it's sweet. Oh, and this Kovalic guy is responsible for the card game, Munchkin, which makes him sweet, as well. [=The Stadholder=]
