Web Comic Review for 11/07/2003
Welcome back my loyal readers and hello to all my newcomers. It is time once again for a web comic review guaranteed to educate on another marvelous piece of internet entertainment! Why do I lie? Ok, it is just more of my babble about a good comic. The comic to read this week is Sky Fall Manga by RekKa and Mirai. Ah yes my friends, another manga web comic (if you read the title of the comic you could probably figure that out). If you have been reading my recent reviews, you would have that I would be tired of these by now.

In the world of Sky Fall Manga, we find a mystical world set in olden days. The world of Sky Fall is a world divided by war. The two most powerful races fight between themselves without reason, while the neutral races fight not to take sides. The story of this land actually has little to do with the war (at least at first). The plot revolves around three main characters. Hanayaka is a member of one of the warring races. She currently works as a mercenary, but it seems that she once suffered tragedy in the war between the races. Hana has a nasty temper, and her spontaneous attitude and love of weapons add a humorous element to this otherwise serious comic. The two beings desperate enough to hire this gung-ho gal are Shinwa the human bard and Nesshin the cat mage. These guys have their own reasons for hiring this mercenary, but you will have to read the comic to find out what. I can't tell you what kind of job Shin and Nessh have in store for their little group, but I can promise you that they have something very big planned. I don't know about you, but I have to stick around to find out what the heck those two are up to

Sky Fall Manga is a comic based upon the Japanese comic style known as "Manga." If you are familiar with my section, then you may have noticed that several web comics these days are based on this style. Think black-and-white with immense artistic talent required. At this point, I don't think of mangas as very original, but the time and skill it takes to draw even one page of a manga more than makes up for the lack of originality. No two manga comics are identical, and I think that this comic is among the better styles I have seen. To go along with the art, Sky Fall Manga has an incredible plot full of the unique and imaginative ideas that always win points with this deity. When you combine hard work with great ideas, you can create exciting comics like this one.

The only downfall I can find with this comic is the lack of updates. The comic itself is scheduled for a post every Monday. A once-a-week schedule is depressing, but it is forgivable when the artwork has the kind of detail that Sky Fall has. Once a week would be acceptable, but it seems that the artists are unable to stick to this schedule. In just this last week, we have not even had an update. Sky Fall Manga is a great comic when it updates, but if it doesn't update, how can it be great? Please keep these comics coming.

Site updates are on Mondays.
Sky Fall Manga is rated TEEN for Mild Violence and shounen-ai(Adult Themes with a twist).

Out of 5 Energy Stars, Shalmdi gives Sky Fall Manga
Star 1 Star 2 Star 3 4 Stars
