08/02/03 - King Features URL: www.kingfeatures.com Hello gods and mortals! I have a treat for you this week. Believe it or not, I have not always been a god of web comics. Once I was nothing more than the god of regular comics. I have expanded since then, but I have never forgotten my roots. Everyday, before my web comics, I read the classics at King Features. If you aren’t quite ready for web comics, King Features will be your first step towards the wonderful world of web comics! King Features is the best on-line paper feature I have found. It gives you all the things I really want from a paper (Comics and Puzzles), and not too much of the stuff I am not really interested in (Articles and News). Ok, maybe I am a bit entertainment-oriented, but hopefully, so are my readers. If you don’t really want the pain of content in your paper, then King Features is the place to get your classic comics. Pick your favorites from their list of over sixty of the comics that many people grew up with. I am a big fan of Spider Man and the Phantom (Yeah, I love the heroes), but my local newspaper has never carried them. Now, with the help of King Features, I read those comics and about 8 others from the King Features list every day. Every comic is in full color and we of course have the big page Sunday funnies. Hey, if you think that you are too good for the REGULAR comics then you haven't been reading the same ones I have. If they are good enough for the gods (me), then they are good enough for you. What is wrong with King Features? Well in exchange for getting a free subscription (No signing up) to a very large list of newspaper comics, you don't exactly get your paper on time. No, not the real one that comes to your house. I mean that King Features will not post a comic until exactly two weeks after it came out in regular printing. This means that some of your jokes will be a little outdated (holiday jokes are a little off), but that is not a big price to pay for free comics. Also, the comics are the only feature that actually updates. You can check out the puzzles and the articles, but those are just one time samples of what you get in King's premium section. Yes they have a premium section with better features and current comics. Personally, I am not interested in their pay section, but you might like it. All in all, King Features is a great way to get some of those comics that most of you grew up with. Pay a visit to your inner child and go read a comic strip today. No you are not to grown up or cool to laugh. Trust me; I am a god remember... Out of 5 stars, Shalmdi give King Features:
