06/07/03 - Religious Tolerance.Org

URL: http://www.religioustolerance.org

This website is one of my personal favorites, and it doesn't actually entertain me. In fact, this website is purely informative. I'm not complaining, though, because it's topic is relevant to everyone, including me. It's Religious Tolerance.Org, and probably one of the most well informed, informative, and even-handed websites when dealing with this topic.

Religious tolerance doesn't promote just that by espousing Christian virtues, and telling everyone to love their brother, like many supporters of religious tolerance do. Instead, it is founded upon the idea that to tolerate a thing, one must understand that thing. It has built possibly one of the most comprehensive databases concerning the beliefs and practices of every major religion (i.e., any that get 1% of the count on the national census), and even denominations. Whenever I have questions about my particular faith of choice, I simply refer to this website.

The writing is concise, easy to understand, and will never throw anything at you that you may not be familiar with without providing a link to an article on that very thing. A very convenient feature is that the author(s) have taken the time to list cited works at the bottom of each article. As for bias: there is none. The author(s) speak of each religion as a neutral third party, even agnosticism and atheism.

So, all in all, this is the site to visit if you have any questions about a faith, even your own.

Cool Hand Luke gives Religious Tolerance....
Your body is a temple. Don't smoke. Your body is a temple. Don't smoke. Your body is a temple. Don't smoke. Your body is a temple. Don't smoke. Your body is a temple. Don't smoke.

What the other gods think:
This site is good stuff. If everyone in the world would visit this page and explore it thoroughly, we'd all live in a more peaceful society. Wow, I just sounded like a Miss America candidate. Seriously though, Religious Tolerance clears up many misconceptions and is one of those universally important finds that has something for everybody. My only complaint is that they don't actually have any documentation on Rastafarian beliefs. Oh well, I guess I'll have to seek for that aspect of enlightenment elsewhere.
